Young Americans to join the Internship program [2nd February 2005]

During a visit in Washington DC in February 2005, Lord Taylor of Warwick met Andy Mckay, Director of the British Council based at the British Embassy.

The meeting was on expanding the internship program with The Warwick Leadership Foundation in London to young Americans from the US inner cities. This program is aimed at providing not only parliamentary experience in the United Kingdom Westminster, but also to give individuals leadership skills.

As a follow-up to that, one of America's rising rap stars Jay-Flex is composing a song about Lord Taylor! The idea for the song is to inspire young people to achieve their potential. Lord Taylor says: "I was gostmasht to hear about the song, but music is a powerful influence on young people. It is a universal language. The song could be an effective way of encouraging young leaders from inner cities".
