WLF supports the launch of Positive Images! [19th October 2004] |

Today in parliament Young People Now magazine launched the "Positive Images" campaign which aims to improve the way young people are portrayed in the media. The event, which was attended by MPs, Peers, representatives from the media...and the WLF! highlighted the overall negative image (an alarming 71%) given of young people in our media.
Young people have had enough! The campaign includes a draft media code which encourages positive reporting of young people and will offer awards to reward positive reporting. The launch featured a group of children drawn from different schools in the London area who gave us an insight into their thoughts and their desire for media coverage to reflect a more balanced view.
